Tarmac Contributes to New Chignal Village Hall

An Essex village is celebrating a new ‘state of the art’ village hall, thanks to a huge Tarmac donation.

Chignal Parish Council demolished a former army wooden hut and replaced it with a new energy efficient village hall after receiving £350,500 from the Tarmac Landfills Community Fund (TLCF).

Mike Pendock, estates manager, said: “We are pleased to support the parish council in bringing this project to fruition in what has been a great example of community involvement.

“We also supported the parish on the setting up of their community orchard in 2015. Engaging with the communities where we operate is something we strive to do across our business and we are putting in a lot of effort to support environmental and cultural amenity projects through the TLCF.”

So far we have contributed more than £16 million to hundreds of community and environmental projects across the UK through the TLCF.
